1. Introduction
This file will show you how to build the working f/w.
The workstation we used to build the image is:
OS Version: Ubuntu 14.04.5 (32-bit version)
OS Kernel Version: Linux ubuntu 4.4.0-31-generic
GCC Version: 4.8.4 (Ubuntu 4.8.4-2ubuntu1~14.04.3)
(You may use other Linux distribution as your workstation
but no guarantee of a successful build.)
2. Procedure: (~# means command)
Step 1. Prepare a working environment
1) Change the ownership from an ordinary user to the root user
~# su
Password: ******** (Enter the root's password)
2) Create a temporary directory:
~# cd /tmp
~# mkdir works
~# chmod a+rw /tmp/works
3) Copy the GPL tar ball into this directory -- /tmp/works
4) untar the archive file
~# cd /tmp/works
~# tar zxf DNS320L_Ax_GPL10906.tar.gz
Step 2. Building a working f/w
~# cd /tmp/works/DNS-320L_GPL/dns-320l_GPL
~# source build_fw
Note : a. make sure uRamdisk, uImage, image.cfs, and default.tar.gz are resided within the merge folder, the default name of generated F/W is : DNS-320L-firmware.
b. upload the DNS-320L-firmware through device GUI
