EricaFer/README.md

Hello

I'm Erica. I enjoy building data pipelines, machine learning solutions, and tools that make complex problems easier to solve.
Most of my commits live in GitLab, but here's a glimpse of what I've been working on.

  • Research Intern @ Siemens (Princeton, NJ, in person). Built APIs, deployed CI/CD pipelines on AWS, developed a VSCode extension, and shipped frontends. Curated cybersecurity datasets for vulnerability detection (CWE/CVE mapping, ICS/OT logs) and automated data pipelines.
  • B.S. in Computer Science @ George Mason University, graduated in 2 years by stacking summer terms.
  • Previously @ Siemens (Data Science/Research). Anomaly detection on industrial logs and SOC dashboards.
  • Earlier: Coordinator of the dev team at UFRJ Analytica. R&D Intern at Brazil's Securities and Exchange Commission.

Highlights

  • Partnered with Rio de Janeiro's Health Bureau, analysis that contributed to $3M/year in hospital budget savings.
  • Winner, Open Data Day Datathon 2021 (education investments and regional inequality).

What I work with

  • Languages: Python, SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Data/ML: pandas, scikit-learn, Jupyter, PostgreSQL
  • Backend: FastAPI, Flask
  • DevOps: Docker, GitLab CI, AWS (ECR/ECS/Lambda/S3)
  • Frontend: React, Next.js
  • Tooling: VSCode extensions, REST APIs
