List of stations

Just a quick glance, the list of stations is woefully inaccurate. Someone listed stations based on FCC filings, not realizing that ATSC 1.0 guest host stations for 3.0 *also* have to file for ATSC 3.0 status even though they are continued 1.0. Example is Syracuse NY where WSTM, WTVH and WSYR-TV are all listed as 3.0. However only WTVH is *actually* transmitting with ATSC 3.0, WSTM and WSYR-TV are hosting the 1.0 legacy channels of WTVH. "Next Gen TV"

If ATSC 3.0 is known as "Next Gen TV" in the marketing and political spheres, then this article needs to be edited to reflect this (as well as the Nextgen (disambiguation) page... AnonMoos (talk) 01:19, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't feel particularly qualified to edit the article, but I created redirects "Next Gen TV" and "Next-Gen TV", and at a minimum, one of those phrases (the more correct one) should be included in boldface near the beginning of this article (since it's a prominent alternative name). I would like to identify the ATSC 3 hosts possibly by BOLDING and the ATSC 1 hosts possibly by ITALICS

Unreliable source for first live end to end transmission.

I removed this source which makes the claim that the first end to end transmission was made on Feb. 23, 2016. However, the photos taken at the event from this source clearly show the date to be 1.20.2016. Additionally, this source says that LG made the announcement of the test on Feb. 24th. The day LG announced the test is not the same thing as being the day LG completed the test. Huggums537 (talk) 21:54, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Newest Video Codecs

Is there any: VVC = H266 = MPEGi or MPEG-5 Part 2 = LC EVC

or License free: AV1/VP9 or MPEG-5 Part 1 = EVC video codecs inclusion possibility?

Or has it been actually rejected yet?

They are pretty new, They have been just finalized in 2020.

I would like that someone could answer that within article.

The entire article reads as if it were industry PR. No mention whatsoever of DRM and the controversies around ATSC 3.0 confirms it. Las Vegas?

If ATSC 3.0 is be broadcast in Las Vegas, NV, it sure doesn't show. Not sure how to add this to the article, as it's not like there's any Wikipedia-type of sources to cite. Just that I do lots of visiting in people's home, and most just use a Roku with Cox Cable or DirecTV/Dish now, or they just watch on their phones. Again, unsure how to smooth this out with citation of sources, and right now, advise to not add it to the article yet. 199.127.116.26 (talk) 21:39, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How are viewer ratings transmitted?
