?Espanol, no? Lo digo por el nombre. Asi hablare mejor.

Tengo tendencia a enrollarme mucho :).

Thanks for editing the Micro SIM image. But the large blue outlines are actually part of the SIM card the the Micro SIM comes in and is used for backwards compatibility with older devices. Justin Ormont (talk) 03:11, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Daniel.Cardenas!
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Hallo Daniel.Cardenas, I have seen that you have created this nice and informative image. However a piece of Alaska and Neuguinea/New Zealand are missing on the map. Could you please correct this? Could you also upload the map in svg format? Then also other people could update it. Thanks --Furfur (talk) 14:28, 1 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Look at the original for the info you want. Mine is just a crop. Daniel.Cardenas (talk) 07:38, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks, I noticed it. --Furfur (talk) 20:06, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please use SVG
Thank you for uploading File:Wikimedia browser share pie chart.png! Did you know that Wikimedia Commons recommends the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format for certain types of images? Scalable Vector Graphics are designed to look appropriate at any scale, and SVG images are easier to modify and translate, helping Wikimedia to distribute knowledge to all of the world. A lot of modern programs support SVG export. If you encountered problems or have questions, don't hesitate to ask me, a member of the Graphic Lab, or the Graphics village pump. Uploading images in SVG format isn't mandatory, but it would help. (To avoid any misunderstandings, please don't just put raster images into an SVG container as embedded raster.) Thanks, and happy editing!

What svg tool creates a 3d pie chart? I used excel 2007 for this and I don't believe it has svg as an output option. I'll double check next time I use it. Daniel.Cardenas (talk) 17:11, 6 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
You can use Adobe Photoshop or GIMP to remove the white background (for transparency; save a PNG file) and use Inkscape to open the PNG file, and save it as an SVG image (don't worry, it's virus free, and free at no cost). Need help with Inkscape? If you do, click here. --JCRules (talk) 23:42, 3 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the info, but not interested in doing those extra steps. Daniel.Cardenas (talk) 19:46, 31 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Usage share of web browsers (Source StatCounter).svg

[edit]
Latest comment: 13 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion

I like your graph of usage share of web browsers. I think it might look even better if the legend did not overlap the Firefox line on the graph.

In your R code, may I suggest you try the line:

legend(list(x=2008.6,y=55),col=1:6,lwd=3,legend=browser.names)

instead of:

legend("left",inset=0.05,col=1:6,lwd=3,legend=browser.names)

This moves the legend up a little so that overlap is avoided.

Thanks again for making this graph.

Thanks for uploading File:Electric bus in Santa Barbara CA.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with cc-zero to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

CropTool

[edit]
Latest comment: 8 years ago2 comments2 people in discussion

In the future, I would appreciate it if you used CropTool to crop images. This tool allows users to crop images already on Commons without having to download the images. It also makes sure that, if necessary, the file has already passed license review. It also properly links the images to one another, in case an issue with them comes up later. Elisfkc (talk) 18:15, 3 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, didn't know about crop tool. Perhaps when someone mentions crop in image description, the user can get a notice about CropTool. Daniel.Cardenas (talk) 20:00, 4 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
