The Government of Kosovo has given the green light to the 'Super Athletes Programme', which aims to increase the number of Olympic qualifiers and medals for Kosovo at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Europe started hosting the continental games later than Asia, America and Africa. In 2012, the Association of European Olympic Committees decided that a separate competition should be held for European athletes and did its first edition in Baku, Azerbaijan.

"It was a lifelong dream," said the gymnast after reaching a historic milestone for Azerbaijan that she hopes can be repeated in the future. Mahsudova will compete at the European Championships for the first time with a chance of winning a medal.

The opening ceremony of the traditional "Great Silk Road" international men's and women's boxing tournament was held in Baku. The event began with a parade of participating teams.

Representatives from five National Olympic Committees (NOCs) met in Vilnius, Lithuania, to finalise the International Dual Career Project for Olympic Committees. This initiative has led to the development of a free training platform, which is now up and running.

Canadian athlete representatives are calling on the federal government to increase funding for the Athlete Assistance Program by an additional CA$6.3 million (EUR4 million) in the upcoming 2024 federal budget.

The Bahrain Olympic Committee, with the support of Dallah Company and in partnership with the French Embassy in Bahrain, successfully organised a global relay race.

Azerbaijan's national boxing team, competing in the I World Olympic Classification Tournament, was warmly welcomed at Baku's Heydar Aliyev International Airport by the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, members of the sporting community and the athletes' families.

To celebrate the centenary of Lithuanian athletes' debut at the Olympic Games, the National Olympic Committee of Lithuania has launched the 100th Anniversary Walking Challenge of the Olympic Movement. More than 11,500 participants have already registered via the #walk15 mobile app.

On the occasion of International Women's Day and the 100th anniversary of the Olympic Movement, female Olympic medallists received congratulations from Lithuania's President Gitanas Nauseda and First Lady Diana Nausediene. The athletes were also presented with a book of Baltic Olympic medallists.

Both parties want to strengthen the existing cooperation. To this end, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Baku. During the event, the "Complex Development Model" was presented. The model aims at the development of volleyball in the country.

The Australian Government, via PacificAus Sports, revealed a collaboration with the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) to aid over 230 athletes, including both able-bodied and para-athletes, from 13 Pacific countries in their readiness for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Athletes worry about what they will do when they retire. Coaches worry about how to build a team, get results and keep their athletes healthy. Administrators worry about the image of the institution and communication both internally and externally.
