When asked about her relationship to the actor in an interview with The New York Times Magazine, de la Huerta revealed that she had met Nicholson at a party at The Roosevelt Hotel when she was 19.
De la Huerta told the interviewer, "[Jack Nicholson] said to me: 'They don't make them like you anymore. I haven't seen a beautiful girl like you since 1965.'
