This register contains details of exemptions issued by the ACCC under section 56GD of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (the Act). The ACCC may exempt a person from one or more of the provisions of the consumer data right (CDR) regime, which includes the provisions in Part IVD of the Act, regulations made for the purposes of Part IVD and the consumer data rules.

On 28 January 2021 the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) granted an exemption under section 56GD of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) to Firefighters and Affiliates Credit Co-operative Limited (FCCL), deferring the commencement date of its Phase 2 product reference data obligations until 1 July 2021.
Exemption for Westpac

On 28 January 2021 the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) granted an exemption under section 56GD of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) to Westpac Banking Corporation (Westpac), deferring its consumer data sharing obligations for its asset finance products until 1 June 2021 and its margin loan accounts until 1 February 2022.

On 4 December 2020 the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) granted an exemption under section 56GD of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) to the Lithuanian Co-operative Credit Society "Talka" Limited (Talka), deferring the commencement of its Consumer Data Right obligations until 12 months after the date Talka makes online banking available to its customers.
