EU and non-EU heads of state and government and opposition leaders of the European People's Party (EPP), along with the Presidents of the European Council, European Commission and the European Parliament - Herman VAN ROMPUY, Jose Manuel BAROSSO and Jerzy BUZEK - will meet tomorrow for the Summit of the Party, which will take place in Meise (Brussels). On the agenda will be the preparation of the European Council, scheduled for 16 and 17 December.

EPP President Wilfried MARTENS, will host the EPP Summit. EPP Secretary General Antonio LOPEZ-ISTURIZ and the members of the EPP Presidency will also attend.

Yves LETERME (Belgium - EU Presidency), Angela MERKEL (Germany), Francois FILLON (France), Jean-Claude JUNCKER (Luxembourg), Fredrik REINFELDT (Sweden), Viktor ORBAN (Hungary), Donald TUSK (Poland), Silvio BERLUSCONI (Italy), Valdis DOMBROVSKIS (Latvia), Traian BASESCU (Romania), Boyko BORISOV (Bulgaria), Lawrence GONZI (Malta), and Iveta RADICOVA (Slovakia) will attend the EPP Summit.

Moreover, Deputy Prime Minister Jyrki KATAINEN (Finland), Deputy Prime Minister Maxime VERHAGEN (the Netherlands), Deputy Prime Minister Karel SCHWARZENBERG (Czech Republic), and opposition leaders Enda KENNY (Ireland), Antonis SAMARAS (Greece), Nikos ANASTASIADES (Cyprus), and Janez JANSA (Slovenia) will also attend.

Non-EU heads of state and government Jadranka KOSOR (Croatia), Nikola GRUEVSKI (FYROM), Sali BERISHA (Albania), Mikheil SAAKASHVILI (Georgia), Vlad FILAT (Moldova) and Bakir IZETBEGOVIC (Bosnia and Herzegovina) will also attend the the Party Summit. Moreover, three days prior to the Presidential elections in Belarus, the EPP Summit will host Aliaksandr MILINKEVIC, Chairman of the movement "For Freedom".

Finally, the EPP will welcome at its Summit as a special guest of honor His Majesty ABDULLAH II King of Jordan.

DEMAIN: Rencontre des dirigeants du PPE au sommet du parti, precedant le Conseil europeen

Bruxelles, 15 decembre 2010

Les chefs d'Etat et de gouvernement de et en dehors de l'Union europeenne et les chefs de l'opposition appartenant au Parti populaire europeen (PPE) ainsi que les Presidents du Conseil europeen, de la Commission europeenne et du Parlement europeen - Herman VAN ROMPUY, Jose Manuel BAROSSO et Jerzy BUZEK - ont ete invites a participer au prochain sommet du parti, qui se tiendra le 16 decembre 2010 a Meise (Bruxelles). La preparation du Conseil europeen des 16 et 17 decembre est a l'ordre du jour.

Ils seront recus par Wilfried MARTENS, President du PPE. Le Secretaire general du PPE, Antonio LOPEZ-ISTURIZ et les membres de la Presidence du PPE seront egalement presents.
