One of my favorite ways to manage Twitter is to use TweetSpinner, it has a huge number of automated tools that can make some of the more boring tasks of Twitter an automated afair.
- Archive your DM's
- DeSpam your DM inbox
- Prune dead accounts
- Purge followers not following you back
- Rotate your Twitter profile background
- Create automated messages with Spinnable text
Google Buzz Privacy Confirmation

Google will be asking all Buzz users to confirm they are happy with the privacy of their account, when you login to Buzz you will see this screen at the very top of your Stream.
The screen gives an overview of your account, who is following you, who you follow and the sites you have connected to your Buzz Stream like Twitter or Flickr. If you are happy you can simply accept or makes changes until your happy. Interestingly they have also added a Turn Off Buzz link as well just in case you want to remove Buzz from your account for good.
All in all a welcome update to Buzz, now if only all networks once very few months asked you to check and reconfirm your privacy settings.. ye I know wishful thinking.
Why your Follower count Matters

So I am aware of the general feeling towards your Twitter follower account among some of the Twitter community, in short they feel that your follower count is irrelevant other than for an Ego stroke.
I almost find myself agreeing with them accept for one thing they are missing, the future of Social Media is not in Twitter or Facebook or any other network it's in the Real Time Search Engines and aggregation services like Tweetmeme and the Digg.com (especially after its relaunch coming soon).
You see the majority of content consumed on the web happens via Search, that won't be changing any time soon, if ever! Google knows it, Microsoft knows it and so do the Social Networks.
Facebook's New Community Pages

New product feature from Facebook, Community Pages basically they are Brand Fan Pages but for community causes.
The main problem with Facebook pages was that anyone could setup a Coca Cola or other brand term page to protest or raise awareness or just have a general gripe.
Over time that meant that some big Brands could find a user created page had more power than their own brands page they operate, usually this happens when a brand does something wrong and Facebook users react in protest.
Facebook drops "Become a Fan"

Ok so this is big news, Facebook have been sending around a document to advertisers about dropping "Become a Fan" and instead using the "Like" option you will be familiar with under status updates.
This is consitent with rumors I have been reading about "Like" being added as a Facebook Connect feature so any website can make it's content "Likeable" and flagged into a users Facebook Stream.
Charities need to prepare for this change, if your running Facebook Adverts you will need to consider if the wording on your advert may have to change, also consider any external links coming into your Facebook page and be ready to change the wording if you feel it's needed for clarity.
